Solid Waste

Household Hazardous Waste
The purpose of the City's Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program is to provide safe and convenient disposal of items that should not be mixed with regular trash.  HHW is collected at the Public Services Facility located at 101 B Avenue, on Saturdays between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Please enter the facility from First Street.  View Flyer for more information and a list of items you may bring. This program is available to Coronado residents only. No business or contractor generated waste is permitted.  We are closed around the following holidays:  New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Call Public Services for more information 619-522 7380 or 619-756 4464 on Saturdays.
Bulky Trash Pickup
Bulky Trash Pickup Week is scheduled twice a year: once in the Spring and once in the Fall.  Set-out large items on your normal trash day. Hazardous waste or construction debris will not be collected.

This year’s Bulky Item Cleanup Event will take place the week of October 2-6, and will occur on residents’ regularly scheduled residential curbside collection days. Place unwanted bulk items on the curb along with your regular collection carts by 6 a.m.

These typically include broken appliances, water heaters, furniture, old mattresses (please wrap mattresses prior to setting out - special mattress disposal bags can be purchased at hardware stores or online), and other miscellaneous bulky household clutter. All yard waste will be recycled and must be bagged or bundled. Tree trimmings should be cut into 3-foot lengths and tied securely into bundles not greater than 18 inches in diameter.

Debris from contractors, landscapers or commercial businesses will not be accepted. No hazardous waste will be accepted. Go to EDCO’s website for more information.

Document Shredding
The annual document-shredding event is usually every Spring. This is held in the parking lot north-west of City Hall (see map)
