John D. Spreckels Center and Bowling Green

The John D. Spreckels Center and Bowling Green replaces the Senior Center that stood at 1019 Seventh Street for decades.  The new 9,000-square-foot building features a multipurpose room, activity room, service kitchen, office space, lounge, lawn bowling clubroom, and restroom which will expand the opportunities for recreation and enrichment for citizens of Coronado.  Construction will continue through the summer and fall with an anticipated opening in December 2016.  The architect is Robert Coffee and the contractor is Barnhart Reese.  A significant portion of the funding for this project comes from the Frances Harpst Trust.
