Beach FAQ's

NOTICE: Effective at 6 a.m. on April 27, Coronado's beach is open to limited activities such as walking and running on the sand and for recreational water sports such as swimming, surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding. The Port of San Diego reopened San Diego Bay for similar recreational water sports at the same time. The reopening of the beach and bay was the first phase of a coordinated, multi-phase reopening plan by the City, other coastal cities, and state and regional agencies. Coronado's beach hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at this time. There is no loitering, laying or sitting on the beach and people must practice social distancing. The City asks that the community heed the City's posted beach hours so we can move as quickly as possible to the next reopening phase.

Coronado Beach is located in the City of Coronado. This is a wide sandy beach, approximately 1.75 miles long. It is bordered on either edge by the United States’ Naval Base beaches. The Coronado Beach Map will provide an orientation to the different beach areas.
