Junior Recreation Leader Program

Do you have what it takes to be a leader and role model for young children?  Do you want to make new friends in a fun and exciting environment?  Join the Junior Recreation Leader Program and become the future of recreation!

The Junior Recreation Leader Program is designed to give students entering 8th through 10th grade a change to gain first hand experience in the recreation field, which can prepare you for a variety of jobs in several fields!  If you love working with kids or want more experience, this is the perfect opportunity!

For more information about the Junior Recreation Leader Program, see the brochure.  An application must be submitted in order to qualify to register.

Leader in Training (High School Leadership)

Leader in Training (LIT) is a program set up to allow young adults (11th - 12th grade) to gain hands on experience and to earn volunteer hours.  The goal of the LIT Program is to provide these volunteers with the opportunity to be mentored by our bright and charismatic recreation staff to learn the leadership skills that are necessary for them to be role models for young children.

For more information about the LIT program, see the brochure.  An application for new LIT's and returning LIT's must be submitted in order to qualify to register.

Team Safe

The Coronado Recreation and Golf Services Department also sponsors Team SAFE, (Student and Family Enrichment).
  • It gives opportunities to learn tricks on problem solving, how to mentor your peers and how to become a leader.
  • It allows you to get involved in community services projects as a volunteer at CMS planter beautification day, children's carnivals and more!
  • The once a month lunch club meetings let teens learn practical life skills.
