Sustainability
What is Sustainability?
"Sustainability" refers to the ability to meet present needs without
jeopardizing the needs of the future. Sustainable practices work under
the premise that natural resources are finite, and that avoiding waste
supports ecological, human, and economic health.
Why prioritize sustainable practices?
The City of Coronado works to minimize its ecological footprint for a
simple reason: Everything that humans need for our survival and health
depends in some way on our natural environment. Ensuring natural
resources are conserved and considered helps to make sure that humans
can continue to exist in harmony with our environment and support our
future generations.
Sustainable Programs and Practices
The City of Coronado works to minimize its ecological footprint through
conserving energy, providing efficient and sustainable transportation
