[ARCHIVED] Film Celebrates a Century of Biking in Coronado

Along for the Ride Flyer for Film Debut and Discussion

A City-produced video celebrating the long and unique relationship with Coronado and the bicycle debuted earlier this week at a special screening and discussion at the Coronado Historical Association. Last week, as the City Council proclaimed May as Bike Month in Coronado, the audience was treated to a special preview of the film, “Along for the Ride: A Century of Biking in Coronado.” The City is celebrating National Bike Month by producing the video in support of bicycling in Coronado. The debut screening was a great success with more than 50 people in attendance. The video was sponsored by a Go-By-Bike grant from the San Diego Association of Governments. The film will screen all summer on Coronado TV and may be viewed on the City’s YouTube channel. The City encourages residents to participate in Bike to Work Day set for May 19. Coronado will have a “pit stop” near the Community Center with giveaways and refreshments for riders.
