Another storm is expected to bring significant rain and wind on Saturday and Sunday according to the National Weather Service. City crews will be hard at work with a mix of tools and machinery preparing for the rain event and then clearing debris from the parks and road during the storms and clearing sand debris from the beaches after the weather events.
The City’s Public Services crews will also monitor other critical city infrastructure throughout the rainstorms. During a storm of some significance, the City's Wastewater Division works onsite through the storm monitoring the pump stations to ensure they do not have issues, the Parks Division staff keep an eye out for trees or branches falling, and the Street Maintenance crews will be clearing storm drains and monitoring any flooding that may occur throughout the city.
Residents can pick up sandbags (self-serve) at First Street and Alameda; Fourth Street and Alameda; North Beach, and at the Cays Park, across from the Fire Station.
