The City, Chamber of Commerce, and Coronado Mainstreet have collaborated to bring the community new and improved lighting for the Rotary Christmas Tree this year. The new lighting was recently installed and will be switched on after the Chamber’s Annual Holiday Parade on December 2. The majestic pine is a beloved icon in Coronado’s downtown. At nearly 100 feet, the Star Pine was planted for the community in 1936 by the Rotary Club of Coronado. It has become one of the focal points of the holidays and is lit every year as part of Coronado’s ever-popular holiday parade.
This year, the tree will be wrapped with over two miles of new, colored lights. The City is sharing the cost for the project with Discover Coronado.
