City's request for high court review denied

The City’s request for a review of an appellate court decision was recently denied by the California Supreme Court.

The case involved the appeal of the Regional Housing Needs Assessment numbers by Coronado and three other San Diego Association of Governments member cities.

SANDAG’s use of a weighted vote on the cities’ appeal is unprecedented in California law. The weighted vote allowed five of 19 jurisdictions to advance a Regional Housing Needs Assessment plan that is both unrealistic and punitive to smaller jurisdictions throughout San Diego County.

Coronado will continue to work with the state.
