Emergency Preparedness

In the event of an earthquake or other natural disaster, are you prepared? Everyone should be ready to provide for their own needs for a minimum of 72 hours. Natural disasters can happen at any time. Your potential for survival is greatly increased by being prepared. You will find links for emergency preparedness on this page to help you with your planning.

The City of Coronado has several resources dedicated to emergencies:

  • AlertSanDiego: The County of San Diego has instituted a regional notification system that will be able to send telephone notifications to residents and businesses within San Diego County impacted by, or in danger of being impacted by, an emergency or disaster.
  • ReadySanDiego: County of San Diego's Emergency Preparedness page. On this page, you will find information on how to prepare for an emergency.
  • Community Emergency Response Team: For citizens who want to receive training on how to respond to emergencies in their city. The goal of this program is to better prepare the community for disasters and to help serve neighborhoods when emergency services are overwhelmed.
