The City of Coronado requires a Certificate of Insurance and Additional Insured Policy Endorsement to provide evidence that a contractor, vendor, or other party doing business with the City of Coronado has the financial ability (via an insurance policy) to respond to a claim and/or judgment against it resulting from the performance of its contractual obligations to the City.
The Certificate and Endorsement (naming the City as an additional insured) are required when a contractor, vendor, or other party performs services on the City's behalf; directs or controls the work of City employees; leases or uses City-owned property; or has City property in their care, custody and/or control.

Included with Certificate & General Information
The Certificates of Insurance and Additional Insured Policy Endorsement provide evidence that a contractor, vendor, or other party doing business with the City has appropriate insurance to cover the claims for which they are responsible. These documents should be provided by an insurance agent or broker.
The Certificates will include the following information:
- Name of insurance company issuing each policy
- Named Insured
- Address of Named Insured
- Description of Coverage
- Policy Numbers
- Policy Periods; and Coverage Type (Occurrence vs. Claims-Made)
- Name(s) of additional insured(s)
The Additional Insured Policy Endorsement provides the number of the insurance policy and lists the named insured(s) that are listed as additional insured(s) on the Certificate.
