Animal License Fees

Animal licenses can be purchased at the Animal Care Facility located at 1395 First Street. If you have any questions, please contact us at 619-522-7371.

Altered means the animal has been spayed or neutered.

Responsible pet care involves making decisions that affect your animal's health, safety and well-being. Spaying or neutering your pet is one of the best ways to protect its health and welfare as well as reduce pet overpopulation.

You can be part of the solution to reduce pet overpopulation by having your pet altered and helping to reduce the number of orphaned animals that are euthanized. Contact your veterinarian for local spay and neuter services.

Late Licensing Fees

If a license is not renewed within 60 days of receipt of notice, a late fee shall be imposed as follows:

• Dogs $10
• Cats $10

Animal Impound Fee

1. Impound where no previous impounds have occurred within the past 12 months: $25 plus $30.42 per day.
2. Impound where a previous impound has occurred within the past 12 months: $35 plus $30.42 per day.
3. Impound where two previous impounds have occurred within the past 12 months: $40 plus $30.42 per day.
4. Impound where three previous impounds have occurred within the past 12 months: $50 plus $30.42 per day.
5. Impound where four previous impounds have occurred within the past 12 months: $55 plus $30.42 per day.
