Library Cards & Loan Periods

LIBRARY CARDS AND LOAN PERIODS:
Library Card Applications are available at the front desk. Two pieces of identification are required.  If your current address is not on your photo ID you will need two additional pieces of identification for name and address verification. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
 

LIBRARY CARD POLICY:

 I   WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE FREE CARDS?

      A.   Persons who reside in the Serra Cooperative Library Systems Service area or who reside in other California jurisdictions that participate in the California Library Service area.

      B.   Persons who have no outstanding overdue materials or delinquent fines.

      C.  Persons are required to present a California issued driver’s license or ID in addition two pieces of mail with name and current residence. (examples):

            1. One must verify residential address such as voter registration, utility bills, rental receipts, preprinted checks, student body cards.

            2.   Must provide a forwarding address of a relative not living with you.

      D.  Persons who complete the Coronado Public Library Card application forms in full, and youngsters who have parental signatures on their application forms. Parents must be present at the time the card is issued.

 II    WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR FEE CARDS?

      A.   Persons whose permanent residence is outside of California and do not own property in Coronado or elsewhere in California. (Military are excluded. They are eligible for FREE cards.)

      B.   Persons who have no outstanding overdue materials or delinquent fines.

      C.  Persons who present TWO pieces of current identification: one a photo ID, ISSUED IN THE UNITED STATES, and one verifying present local address.

      D.  We will also ask for your social security number, and a forwarding address of a relative not living with you.

 III   WHO MAY RENEW/REPLACE THEIR CORONADO PUBLIC LIBRARY CARD?

      A.   Persons with current valid Coronado Public Library cards in good standing without outstanding overdue materials or delinquent fines.

      B.   Persons who have fee cards and pay the annual fee then in effect.

      C.  Persons who update the Coronado Public Library registration with correct address. A fee of $5.00 is charged to replace a lost card.

 

PERSONS ELIGIBLE FOR FEE CARDS:
Anyone not owning property in the State of California whose permanent address is outside this state.
Persons without outstanding fines or overdue materials.
Non-Residents pay a $10.00 annual fee, and their membership may be renewed yearly.
 
A FEE OF $5.00 IS CHARGED TO REPLACE A LOST CARD.
