 5.        CONSENT CALENDAR

 

 

a.         Approval of Reading by Title and Waiver of Reading In Full of Ordinances on this Agenda.  Approved.

 

 

*b.         Review and Approve that the Warrants, as Certified by the City/Agency Treasurer, are all Correct, Just, and Conform to the Approved Budgets for FY 2013-2014.  Approved.

 

 

c.         Award of a Professional Engineering Design Services Contract with Psomas for a Not-to-Exceed Amount of $43,000 for FY 2013/14 Pump Station Upgrades at Pine Street Project.  The City Council authorized the City Manager to execute an agreement with Psomas for a not-to-exceed amount of $43,000 for the design of the Fiscal Year 2013/14 Pump Station Upgrades at Pine Street project.

 

 

d.         Award a Contract to Kirk Paving, Inc. in the Amount of $37,918 for Tennis Court Repair at Sixth Street and D Avenue and Allocate an Additional $15,000 of Funds from the General Fund toward the Project.  The City Council rejected all bids received on a contract in the amount of $37,918 for construction of the Tennis Court Repair at Sixth Street and D Avenue project. The City will issue a new bid in the future.

 

 

 

 

e.         Adoption of "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Coronado to Designate a Yield Intersection on Visalia Row at Margarita Avenue."  The City Council adopted "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Coronado to Designate a Yield Intersection on Visalia Row at Margarita Avenue."

 

 

 

 

f.          Recommendation from the Traffic Operations Committee Regarding the Installation of Pavement Markings and a Marked Pedestrian Crosswalk at the Intersection of Orange Avenue and Second Street.  The City Council approved a motion to install "Keep Clear" pavement markings at the intersection of Orange Avenue at Second Street and requested that City staff return with a report, for future consideration, that would amend the warrants to allow for the installation of more crosswalks in the City.

 

 

 

 

g.         Authorization to Advertise the Main Fire Station Dorm Remodel.  The City Council authorized staff to advertise the Main Fire Station Dorm Remodel project.

 

 

 

 

h.         Receive Update on Administrative Plan for City of Coronado Government Cable Television Channel.  The City Council approved a motion to accept update on the administrative plan to operate the City's government cable television channel.

 

 

 

8.         PUBLIC HEARINGS:

a.         Public Hearing:  Appeal of the Decision of the Historic Resource Commission that the Residence Located at 1004 Tenth Street Meets the Criteria to be Designated as a Historic Resource in Accordance with Chapter 84.20 of the Municipal Code (NOI 2013-25 Union Bank Trustee).  THIS ITEM WAS CONTINUED TO THE JANUARY 21, 2014, CITY COUNCIL MEETING AT THE REQUEST OF THE APPELLANT.

 

 

11.       CITY COUNCIL:

b.         Consideration of Appointment of One New Member to the Civil Service Commission.  The City Council appointed Robert E. Williams as a new Civil Service Commission member who will serve a three-year term to expire December 31, 2016.

 

 

c.         Consideration of Appointment of One New Member to the Bicycle Advisory Committee.  The City Council appointed Beth A. Bakke as a new Bicycle Advisory Committee member who will serve a three-year term to expire November 30, 2016.

 

 

 

d.         Consideration of Appointment to Fill One Vacancy on the Historic Resource Commission.  The City Council appointed Emily Haugen Talbert as a new Historic Resource Commission member who will serve a three-year term to expire December 31, 2016.

 

 

e.         Consideration of Appointment of One New Member to the Planning Commission.  The City Council appointed William E. Sandke as a new Planning Commission member who will serve a three-year term that expires December 31, 2016.

 

 

 

f.          Introduction of "An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Coronado, California, Amending Section 2.34.040 of Chapter 2.34 of Title 2 of the Coronado Municipal Code Regarding the Duties of the Auditing Committee of the City Council" and Adoption of a Resolution Revising  City Council Policy # 3 titled "Assignment To Audit Committee." The City Council introduced "An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Coronado, California, Amending Section 2.34.040 of Chapter 2.34 of Title 2 of the Coronado Municipal Code Regarding the Duties of the Auditing Committee of the City Council" and adopted "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Coronado Revising its Policy #3 titled `Assignment to Audit Committee.' "
