Budget in Brief 2013-14
CORONADO, CA (July 30, 2013) - Last month, the Coronado City Council adopted its Fiscal Year 2013-14 budget, a spending plan that reflects the community's values and priorities. The budget supports the services, programs and projects that maintain the quality of life Coronado citizens have come to expect.
An overview of the 2013-14 budget, for the fiscal year that began July 1, 2013, is presented in the City's annual Budget in Brief document, which can be found online.
The Budget in Brief is intended to be a user-friendly alternative to the full FY 2013-14 Adopted Budget and Financial Plan. Hard copies of the Budget in Brief will be available next week at City Hall and will be delivered to City facilities and to local community groups.
The Budget in Brief shows where the money comes from and how it is spent. The document takes a look at Enterprise Funds, the Capital Improvement Program and explains how the City is dealing with the dissolution of redevelopment.
The 2013-14 budget is balanced with revenues projected to exceed expenses in the General Fund, the City's largest operating fund, by $793,000. Management of the budget occurs throughout the year. The City Council will review and approve a mid-year budget report in February or March 2014. Preparation for the Fiscal Year 2014-15 will begin in March 2014.
The entire adopted 2013-14 budget is available on the City's website, and is available for viewing at the Library and City Hall.
