Sanitary Sewer Facilities Upgrade to Begin
Coronado, CA (August 24, 2011) - The City is set to begin work on a four-month project to upgrade its sanitary sewer facilities at the City's pump station near the Coronado Ferry Landing.
The work will take place on a city easement in the grassy area at the Ferry Landing. Access to area businesses will not be affected, and the City's contractors will set up a fabric-lined fence around the work area to minimize visual impacts.
The project includes replacing and relocating a rusted electrical control panel cabinet; removing two electrical cabinets; adding a fully enclosed emergency generator; replacing underground wiring; replacing electrical equipment in the sub-surface pump station; and adding sub-surface grass pavers with sod above.
Construction is scheduled to start September 6, 2011, and run through January 5, 2012. The city had been slated to start the project in May but it was delayed until after Labor Day to avoid the busy summer tourist season.
