|The Street Rehabilitation and Sewer Main Replacement project will repair or replace portions of damaged sewer pipes within First Street, Second Street, and Encino Row. In addition, the project will repave the following streets: First Street (from Orange Avenue and First Street's eastern terminus); Second Street (between A Avenue and the D/Orange alley); Park Place; Star Park Circle; Aruba Bend; St. Christopher's Lane; and Kingston Court (all three legs). In addition, Encino Row will be resurfaced and receive new curb and gutter along its western edge to address minor damage from tree roots as well as small drainage issues. The construction contract for the project has been awarded to Granite Construction. City staff is currently coordinating with Granite to set a construction schedule; construction on streets within the Coronado Cays may start in late August while construction in the Village will not start until September (after Labor Day). Current Construction Status: The curb, gutter, cross gutter and pedestrian ramp improvements on Kingston Court, Aruba Bend and Saint Christopher's Lane are complete. Beginning on September 19 and continuing through October 3, there will be paving rehabilitation work on Kingston Court, Aruba Bend and Saint Christopher's Lane. On September 23, concrete improvements to Star Park Circle and Park Place are scheduled to commence. The contractor continues to pothole for existing utilities on Second Street (between A Avenue and D Avenue) and on Encino Row. As a result of these construction operations, full vehicular access to these streets may be affected.
