City Council Actions 10/1/2013 Meeting
5. CONSENT CALENDAR:
a. Approval of Reading by Title and Waiver of Reading In Full of Ordinances on this Agenda. Approved
*b. Review and Approve that the Warrants, as Certified by the City/Agency Treasurer, are all Correct, Just, and Conform to the Approved Budgets for FY 2012-2013 and FY 2013-2014. Approved
c. Extension of Agreements for As-Needed Geotechnical and Materials Testing Professional Services with Ninyo & Moore and Christian Wheeler Engineering. The Council authorized the City Manager to enter into agreements for as-needed professional services with Ninyo & Moore and Christian Wheeler Engineering for a period of one year.
d. Adoption of Resolutions to Designate a 20-foot Yellow Curb Loading Zone on Seventh Street Adjacent to the Coronado Senior Center and to Remove an Existing 10-foot Red Curb No Parking Zone on D Avenue. The resolutions were adopted.
8. PUBLIC HEARINGS:
a. Public Hearing: Consideration of a Request for Historic Alteration Permit, including Relief from Zoning Standards, for the Property Addressed as 744 B Avenue and Located in the R-1A(E) (Single Family Residential) Zone (HAP 2013-08 David Sweeney). The Council adopted "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Coronado approving the issuance of a Historic Resource Alteration Permit (HAP 2013-08) for alterations and exceptions to zoning standards for the historically designated residence addressed as 744 B Avenue located in the R-1A(E) (Single Family Residential) Zone"
b. Public Hearing: Introduction of "An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Coronado Repealing Chapter 36.08 and Adding a New Chapter 36.08 to Title 36 of the Coronado Municipal Code Regarding Prohibition of Smoking in Certain Public Areas." The Council approved the introduction of "An Ordinance of the City of Coronado Repealing Chapter 36.08 and Adding a New Chapter 36.08 to Title 36 of the Coronado Municipal Code Regarding Prohibition of Smoking in Certain Public Areas" to be effective January 1, 2014.
11. CITY COUNCIL:
b. Interim Financial Report for Year Ending June 30, 2013. The Council received the report.
c. Consideration of Encroachment Permits E1309-002 and E1309-003 for Construction of Improvements at 601 First Street and 605 First Street within an Existing City Easement and into the City Right-of-Way along Portions of First Street. The Council approved a motion that there be one more meeting with the stakeholders' group, with the Mayor making himself available either as a facilitator or chair, to gain feedback, a final recommendation and a report that shall include a recommendation on curb cuts, landscaping desires, and sidewalks. The target to return to the Council will be the first week of December, if not earlier.
d. Consideration of a Request from the Coronado Point Condominium Owners Association to Reserve the use of Two Parking Spaces One Day Per Week. The Council directed the City Manager and staff to work with the members of the Coronado Point Condominium Owners Association to come up with an alternate solution to bring back to the City Council.
