Coronado Police Explorer Post 150

Police Explorers

The purpose of the Coronado Police Department Explorer program is to acquaint youth, ages 14-21, with the objectives of public safety in our community and promote sound morals, ethical conduct and respect for law and order.

The mission of the Coronado Police Department Explorer program is to bridge the gap between youth and police through education and give those who are interested in law enforcement an opportunity to see law enforcement operations first hand. It affords youth the opportunity to contribute to their community.

What do Explorers do?:

Explorers meet monthly for training; In addition, Explorers are required to participate in community events where they direct traffic, crowd control, community relations, finger printing and other tasks that involve interaction with the public. Explorers also learn firsthand how police officers do their jobs. Explorers attend an Explorer Academy and can ride along on patrol with police officers.
