Estimated Timeline to complete Environmental Phase

Dates Tasks
2/2010 - 7/2010 Consultant incorporates Alternative 4B, Option 3 and other required additional studies into Draft Project Report and Environmental Document (PR/ED) per Caltrans direction.
7/2010 - 3/2011 Draft PR/ED is submitted to Caltrans (local district and headquarters) for their review and comment. Consultant finalizes draft PR/ED.
3/2011 - 5/2011 Consultant prints and circulates draft EIS/EIR which includes a 45 day Public Comment Period and a Public Hearing.
5/2011 - 8/2011 Consultant prepares written responses to public comments. Caltrans and the City review responses. Consultant prepares final ED for City Council consideration.
8/16/2011 City Council is presented PR/ED and requested to select a Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA).
8/2011 - 2/2012 Based on the selected LPA, consultant finalizes environmental document.
3/2012 - 6/2012 The Federal Highway Administration is requested to issue final Record of Decision (ROD) and Notice of Determination once financing for the design/construction phase for the LPA is identified/secured.
